Scientists at Merck & Co. demonstrated the use of #ssNMR to analyze the freezing process of biomacromolecule solutions, crucial for biopharmaceutical development. The technique identifies the crystallization of certain compounds and measures the pH and unfrozen water content in freeze concentrates. The findings, applied to a commercial monoclonal antibody formulation, establish ssNMR as a valuable tool for investigating biopharmaceutical attributes and aiding process optimization and formulation development.
